The “Voice of the People” initiative is a collaborative effort involving The President’s House, the World Zionist Organization, the Jewish Agency for Israel and philanthropic partners.
“Voice of the People” serves as a global collaborative forum, impartial and inclusive, aiming to represent the diverse spectrum of Jewish voices. Our goal is to foster proactive Jewish leadership to secure the prosperity of the Jewish people and Israel through tackling pressing challenges facing the Jewish people, while establishing clear and actionable parameters for constructive outcomes.
The council will comprise 150 members, selected for a 2-years term. There will be 50 from Israel, 50 from the United States and Canada and 50 from across the globe. Additionally, there will be a fellowship track consisting of 10 fellows who will support the work of the council members. Members will be selected through a professional process ensuring expertise, inclusivity and diversity, tapping into the collective Jewish wisdom to tackle shared challenges and implement strategies.
No. Members do not have to be affiliated with any Jewish communal organizations or synagogues but should have the passion, talent, and network to create an impact on the future of the Jewish people.
The application process is open to any individual who identifies as Jewish, is over the age of 18 and believes that Israel has a right to exist and that the Jewish people have a right to Israel as their homeland.
The recruitment of candidates will be publicly announced. Delegates are chosen through a transparent, unbiased, and semi-automated process, supported by a technological algorithm, guaranteeing fairness and impartiality. This will ensure that we will have a diverse and inclusive cohort built around many predetermined parameters such as gender equality, denominations, organizational affiliations, geographical locations, and professional backgrounds. All local laws will be adhered to. The short-listed candidates will be interviewed before the final decision.
All council members are expected to take an active and full part in the council and the 4-day conference that will be held in Israel in March 2025. The council represents a global and diverse Jewish space that will operate for two years, convening monthly for regular meetings and participating in task forces with varying frequencies. Therefore, elected council members are expected to commit to a two-year term, actively and fully participate in all council activities. Membership in the council is on a voluntary basis.
English will serve as the primary language for this initiative. Council members and participants must possess a competent level of English as all sessions and meetings will be conducted exclusively in English.
All hotel costs will be covered, and travel expenses such as flights, may be reimbursed upon request. We’re happy to support your travel costs on a case-by-case basis to ensure your attendance at the conference.
